The Definitive Chocolate Chip Cookie Muffins

A little edit, a few days later: My partner liked them so much that he ordered me JUMBO muffin pans! Hah! 🙂 If you use a jumbo pan, decrease oven temperature to 375 degrees, and bake for 30-45+ minutes (I didn’t pay good attention). He also likes them with all butter (no oil), which is a little less moist.

And behold:


The Mage suggested some plain ol’ chocolate chip muffins this week. 🙂

So here we go: no frills, brown sugary, fluffy chocolate chip cookies in muffin form. Om nom nom!


1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
6 Tbsp butter, melted
1/4 cup vegetable oil (mix those fats! All butter is probably okay, though)
2 large eggs, beaten
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup milk
1 cup mini chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 400 degrees, and line 12 standard muffin cups.

Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

In a larger bowl, mix the butter, oil, eggs, and sugars until smooth. Stir in the milk and vanilla.

Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just blended, then stir in the chocolate chips.

Divide among muffin cups, and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until lightly browned and just done in the middle.

Optional: Feed to partner; obtain hugs. 😉
