Perfect for picky partners who don’t like strong or weird cheeses! 🙂
1 pound large elbow macaroni
1 pound shredded mozzarella cheese (I like the thicker shreds for this!)
2 cups milk
2 cups heavy cream
Salt and pepper for sprinkling between layers
Sriracha sauce (optional and recommended!)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees, and grease a large glass baking dish (~3 quarts is good).
Boil the macaroni for half the recommended time, then spoon 1/3 of it into the baking dish. Sprinkle 1/3 of the cheese over this, then sprinkle with salt and pepper. Repeat layers until noodles and cheese are exhausted.
Whisk together the milk and cream, adding a few tablespoons of sriracha if desired. Pour this evenly over the macaroni.
Cover dish with foil, and bake for ~1 hour and 15 minutes. Remove foil and bake 5-10 minutes more, or until browned and bubbly.
